Sharnee Rawson — Head of Commercial Content, The Guardian
About SHArnee
Sharnee Rawson helps brands to craft stories that people care about.
She spent more than a decade as an editor and journalist in Australia’s top newsrooms before joining the Guardian Australia in 2019, where she now heads up the content arm of Guardian Lab.
As Head of Commercial Content, Sharnee works to create impactful strategies that cut through the spin, and align with the Guardian’s strong editorial value system.
This includes upholding a strict governance process, which unpacks all sustainability, environmental and ESG claims made within content pieces. She’s worked with hundreds of clients, including Disney, Who Gives a Crap, Bank Australia, Spotify, Woolworths, and Audi.
Sharnee fell into journalism by accepting a cadetship to escape her law degree, and has also dabbled in the food world, with stints as food curator for TEDxSydney, and professional restaurant critic.
